A man has been arrested after being assaulted with a weapon on the pier in Bognor Regis.

A spokesperson for Sussex Police said officers were called to a report of people fighting at 18.50 BST on 31 March.

A 32-year-old man from Bognor Regis was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and he remains in custody.

The spokesperson also said an unidentified man suffered a serious injury during the incident but he has not yet been identified.
