Royal letter for Jersey aid worker
- Published
The King has sent a personal message to a Jersey man who is dying of cancer.
Since his diagnosis in September, Simon Boas has written inspirational articles about his illness which have featured in national media.
The letter conveyed how moved His Majesty had been to hear of Mr Boas' charitable work as executive director of Jersey Overseas Aid and his courageous approach to his illness.
The Lieutenant Governor Vice Admiral Jerry Kyd CBE hand-delivered the letter to Mr Boas at Jersey Hospice on Thursday.
Along with multiple letter and features, Mr Boas has written a book about cancer, death and the joy of life.
A Beginner’s Guide to Dying will be published in September with all proceeds going to palliative care charities.
