Leisure centre reopening delayed until autumn
- Published
The reopening of a leisure centre has been delayed until late October due to maintenance and redevelopment work.
Teesdale Leisure Centre in Barnard Castle has been closed since February, but there were plans to reopen its swimming pool in time for summer.
Durham County Council claimed the delay was "beyond our control", but work was "fully on track for the centre to reopen in autumn".
In addition to the pool, work is continuing on the centre's reception area, changing rooms and soft play area.
