Man arrested after serious Devon crash

A man who was arrested over the crash has been bailed until 24 August

A man has been arrested after a woman was left with serious injuries following a car crash, police have said.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the single vehicle crash involved a blue Renault Laguna and happened at about 13:20 BST on Saturday on Kings Road, Devonport.

The force said a woman who was a passenger in the car was in hospital with serious injuries.

A police spokesperson said: "A man in his 20s from Plymouth has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving and Section 18 grievous bodily harm with intent. He has been released on bail until 24 August pending further inquiries."

Police have asked anyone who witnessed the crash or has dashcam footage of the incident has been asked to contact investigating officers.
