A man who was acting as a look out for a cannabis factory raid has admitted stabbing an onlooker to death.
Jetmir Pemaj, 33, died after a fight broke out in Harrow Street, Wolverhampton at about 05:00 GMT on 27 July last year, police said.
A second man in his 20s was also stabbed and taken to hospital with serious injuries.
Lucious Winchester, 25, of Barnwood Road, Quinton, was jailed for 15 years at Wolverhampton Crown Court on Tuesday.
Winchester had been armed with knives as he stood guard while a group tried to burgle a nearby cannabis factory, West Midlands Police said.
The victim and his friend pulled up in a car, challenged and then chased after Winchester as he tried to flee on foot.
A brawl started and Mr Petmaj was fatally injured.
Winchester casually walked back to the car and fled, police said.
He was identified after the force found three of his knives were left in the area and police officers arrested him two days later.
Winchester admitted charges of manslaughter, unlawful wounding and aggravated burglary at a previous hearing.
In tribute, Mr Pemaj's family said: "Jetmir was a beloved son, brother and partner. He was deeply loved and will be sorely missed by his entire family and friends."
