Wardens are increasing patrols in an area of Aberdeen where residents are having to move out due to potentially dangerous concrete.

Hundreds of tenants in Balnagask are being rehoused elsewhere after reinforced autoclaved aerated concrete (RAAC) was discovered in the properties.

Council officials have raised concerns the area could attract unwanted attention from vandals.

Wardens can help to deter antisocial behaviour and can tackle other issues such as littering and illegal parking.

Aberdeen City Council said it has engaged with the community safety partnership and local policing team to keep them aware of the situation in the area.

A crime reduction survey has also been carried out with the police and the fire service.
