A cash machine has been ripped from the wall of a Nationwide Building Society in a town, police said.

Officers from Hertfordshire Police were called to Knight Street in Sawbridgeworth at about 05:30 BST on Tuesday.

A stolen telehandler smashed into the building and loaded the machine on to a white pick-up truck, the force added.

Three males fled the scene, leaving the telehandler behind.
