Shop name encourages child vaping - councillor

A local councillor said the new sign on a Lincolnshire shop would "encourage" children to vape.
The new exterior for the retailer, on Holbeach High Street, was put up on 4 April.
Previously a barbers, it began trading as Sweet & Vape Shop on 5 April.
Since it opened, South Holland District Council has received concerns from members of the public over its design and name.
Councillor for Holbeach, Sophie Hutchinson, said: "I think it is totally inappropriate. I have had loads of members of the public contact me about it.
"They are unhappy about the design and the name. It is encouraging young children to think it is acceptable to vape."
She added: "I see loads of young people around here that vape, there are various different reasons for it.
"It is not something we should be encouraging and promoting."
The BBC approached the shop but no one wanted to comment.
Grimsby Toys and Vape in Pasture Street, Grimsby, which was established in March 2023, has also caused concern recently amongst the public.
A meeting will take place in May with Lincolnshire Police, local authority agencies and a neighbourhood engagement officer to review current policies and legislation related to vape shops.
