A road was closed by police after a car crashed into a river on the Cambridgeshire Fens.

Police said it was not yet clear whether anyone had been hurt after they were called at about 11:55 to Forty Foot Bank near Chatteris.

An image of a car in a river was posted on social media by a member of the public.

Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service said it sent three crews and, as of 14:30, was still at the scene.
