Three arrests have been made as more than 1,000 cannabis plants were seized in Kent.

Kent Police said they carried out a drug warrant at a commercial unit in Ramsgate on Wednesday morning.

Three men, aged 33, 43 and 48, have been arrested on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and abstracting electricity and all three were taken into custody.

The force said they found between 1,500 and 1,700 plants inside the premises.

Kent Police said cultivation equipment was also seized.

UK Power Networks also attended the scene to help make it safe, following concerns the electricity in the building had been tampered with, according to the force.

Inquiries remain ongoing.
