The agreement covers an area of the High Street in Worcester

The number of charity street collectors allowed in a city centre will continue to be limited.

Worcester City Council has agreed to renew the restrictions first imposed there in 2016.

They will limit the number of workers asking people to sign up to direct debit plans, and also when they can operate.

One member of the authority's licencing committee, Richard Udall, said before 2016 "you couldn’t walk between shops without being pestered".

The agreement is between the council and the Chartered Institute of Fundraising and covers the pedestrianised area of Worcester's High Street between St Swithin Street and Fish Street.

It limits the number of fundraisers in that area to four, and only on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

In addition, only one charity can be present in Worcester on any one day, and fundraising will only be permitted between the hours of 10:00 and 17:00.
