A popular transport festival has been cancelled due to a shortage of volunteers and funding, its chairman said.

Fleetwood Festival of Transport - known as Tram Sunday - was due to be held in July.

Festival chair Terry Rogers told BBC Radio Lancashire there had been council support but "from local businesses, it's not been forthcoming due to the downturns and Covid".

The festival, which started in 1986, costs £25,000 to run.

The organisers said they would look to refund bookings.
