CCTV images have been released by police after an "altercation" outside a pub left a man in hospital needing surgery.

The incident involved a group of men and happened at around 21:00 BST on 26 April outside the Bishops Tavern on Cheltenham Road in Bristol.

A man was punched and suffered a broken ankle, and has since returned home from hospital.

Avon and Somerset Police have now released CCTV of two men detectives want to speak to.

One man pictured appeared to be wearing a black jacket over a red T-shirt, and had a small moustache. The other wore a dark blue or black coat with white piping on the sleeves.

Detectives investigating the incident say a number of people were in the area who would have seen it happen, some of whom are thought to have filmed it.

They are keen to speak to these people, as well as the two men pictured.
