Detectives investigating the death of a woman in Aberdeen said she was involved in a crash on her e-scooter, a week before her body was discovered.

The 46-year-old, who has not been named, was found within a property in the city's Mastrick Close on 27 November.

Police Scotland said it was now understood she had been in a collision on 20 November. No other vehicles were involved.

Her death is being treated as "unexplained" at this time.

Officers said the e-scooter incident happened at about 17:20 on Whitemyres Avenue.

Sgt Peter Henderson said: “While it is unclear at this stage whether the collision and any injuries the woman sustained contributed to her death, it is important that we establish the full circumstances of what happened.

“I am appealing for anyone who was in Whitemyres Avenue and may have seen a woman riding a black e-scooter to please come forward, external.

“In particular I would urge any motorists with dash-cams who were on the road to check their footage in case they have captured anything which could be of significance to our inquiries."
