An online question and answer event is being held by the States of Guernsey about proposed changes to the Island Development Plan

People will have the chance to ask questions about proposed changes to the policy that oversees development in Guernsey.

The States of Guernsey said an online question and answer session would be held on its Facebook page at 19:00 BST on Thursday for anyone who wants more details about the Island Development Plan (IDP) Review.

Last month, the Development and Planning Authority (DPA) unveiled changes it was planning for the IDP following a review.

Questions can be asked during the event via the comments section on the States Facebook page or by emailing comms@gov.gg during the event, the States said.

It said questions could also be sent via email before the event.

Among the panellists answering questions will be DPA President Deputy Victoria Oliver, principal forward planning officer Simone Whyte and principal conservation and design officer Alun White.

The proposed changes to the IDP include six new areas of the island being earmarked for affordable housing and extending the L’Aumone local centre boundary to include the Castel Hospital site.

However, some deputies including Economic Development Committee President Deputy Neil Inder have criticised the IDP review for not being radical enough.

A consultation on the proposed changes to the IDP is running until 29 July.
