Man admits sex act on corpse at hospital mortuary

A man has been told to expect a substantial prison sentence for breaking into a hospital mortuary and committing a sexual offence on a corpse.

Damon Tingay, 29, of no fixed abode, was arrested after an incident in the restricted area of the Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby on 17 March.

At Hull Crown Court on Monday, Tingay was remanded into custody after pleading guilty to trespass with intent to commit sexual offences and sexual penetration of a corpse.

Tingay is due to be sentenced at Grimsby Crown Court on 27 June.
