Police have arrested a man in his 20s after two stores were robbed at knifepoint.

Officers were called after reports a man with a knife had gone into Silver Road Post Office and Angel Road Stores in Norwich and demanded money between 16:00 and 18:00 BST on Sunday.

He left the post office - which is also a newsagent's - with £300 to £400 in cash.

A police negotiator was then called to speak to a man who had climbed on to the roof of a terraced house in Angel Road.

An armed response vehicle and the fire and ambulance services were also called to the scene, with a roadblock in place until 18:15 BST.

Police said a man had been arrested on suspicion of robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.
