Warning of strong winds for the East

Exposed coastlines could be among the worst hit by the strong winds

Strong winds forecast for the country are likely to bring travel disruption and power losses, the Met Office has warned.
Forecasters have issued a yellow weather warning for a large swathe of the East of England.
In particular, coastal routes and seafront communities can expect large waves as well as delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges, the Met Office said, external.
The warning will remain in place from midnight tonight until 21:00 GMT on Thursday, it said.
