Salisbury Park and Ride bus fares to increase by 10%

Park and Ride bus fares in Wiltshire will increase from this week to "continue to provide a high standard of service", the council says.
Customers using the service in Salisbury are advised the increases will help maintain and run a reliable, cheaper alternative to city parking.
All five Park and Rides sites in the city remain free to use, but bus fares will increase by more than 10%.
Cabinet Member for Transport, Tamara Reay, said the increase to fares were necessary to ensure Salisbury Red buses could continue to provide their high standard.
She said: "We thank everyone for using the services when visiting the beautiful city of Salisbury".
The council notes that regular customers can use multi-trip tickets via the Salisbury Reds app, as these offer the best value.
The app is also able to track buses in real-time and you can see it moving along the route.
All buses accept cash as well as contactless payments and tap-on, tap-off for paperless ticketing.
Salisbury Reds general manager Andrew Sherrington said the changes to the Park and Ride ticket prices had been considered carefully with Wilshire Council.
He said: "We are hopeful they will have minimal impact on our customers.
“These services are designed to help ease congestion within the city centre, and they provide those visiting Salisbury with convenient and comfortable transport connections.
“Our team works very hard to ensure Park and Ride is an attractive and viable option in Salisbury, and these latest changes will ensure we are able to continue providing a high level of service here.”
