A 16-year-old boy has been charged with murder after a teenager was fatally stabbed in a park in Wolverhampton.
Harleigh Hepworth, 17, from Staffordshire, was attacked in West Park on Thursday.
The defendant, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared before magistrates on Monday and was remanded in custody.
He is set to appear before Wolverhampton Crown Court on Tuesday.
A second boy, aged 17, was arrested on Sunday on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.
Police said the investigation was continuing, with officers going over CCTV footage.
Harleigh was found in a critical condition by paramedics and declared dead shortly afterwards.
Det Insp Ade George said extra patrols would be in the area to provide reassurance to the community and support those affected by the attack.
"Our thoughts remain with the family and friends of Harleigh," he said.
