Vandal's heavy projectile hits coach windscreen

A "hard and heavy" object thrown by a vandal at the windscreen of a moving coach has injured the driver and caused £3,000 of damage to the brand new vehicle.
Lakeside Coaches said it was being driven along Robertson Way in Shrewsbury at 22:54 BST on Wednesday when the projectile emerged from a bridge.
The firm said the driver suffered a "minor cut to his hand" from shards of glass, but had just dropped off his passengers and "thankfully" kept the vehicle under control.
West Mercia Police said inquiries were ongoing into the incident.
"This is the newest vehicle on our fleet," the Shropshire firm said in a post on Facebook. "At just three weeks old it is now out of service due to one idiotic individual's behaviour."
It went on to describe the culprit as wearing a blue T-shirt and shorts.
The company said the damage would take the coach off the road for an estimated five days until repairs could be carried out.
It had been due to take a school trip to London on Thursday.
