A fire service is warning about the dangers of black ice after a car left a road and fell into a brook.
Castle Donington Fire Station said firefighters were called to a collision involving one vehicle which had slipped on black ice in Diseworth, Leicestershire, at 07:40 GMT on Monday.
The driver was not injured and had climbed out of the vehicle before the fire service arrived.
Firefighters said black ice was "transparent and treacherous".
Black ice is a thin coat of transparent ice which forms on roads and pathways allowing the road beneath to be seen through it.
Castle Donington Fire Station said on X: "Beware of the unseen danger on the roads: black ice!
"It's transparent and treacherous. Drive cautiously, keep speeds down, and stay alert for any signs of slippery patches."
One crew from Castle Donington Fire Station was sent to the collision by Wartoft Grange, in Green Lane, to make it safe.
