A popular bike night is back on the calendar after being cancelled last year due to increasing costs.

Organisers pulled the plug on Boston Bike Night in November 2023 after 27 years.

But local businesses have stepped forward to fund the event, which will return on 4 July.

A spokesperson for Boston Borough Council said it was "delighted" that a new team decided to take on the event.

Boston Bike Night attracts thousands to the town to admire - or show off - motorbikes.

Last year one of the former organisers of Boston Bike Night, David Tuley, told the BBC rising numbers of "rules and regulations" meant that the event made a loss in 2023.

But officers at Boston Borough Council are helping to make this year's event happen.

Boston councillor Dale Broughton said "finances are not going to be a problem" for the new organisers because of the "incredible support of local businesses".

Events like bike nights "bring the communities together" and "showcase the town", said Mr Broughton.

"It's a brilliant event so we were so pleased that we managed to negotiate with the new organisers," he said.
