Police blocked off part of Narborough Road on Wednesday

A street in Leicester has been taped off after a report a man was stabbed.

Police were called to Cambridge Street at about 12:25 BST on Wednesday.

The man has been taken to hospital for treatment to injuries that police do not believe to be life-threatening or life-changing.

The street and the city-bound side of Narborough Road were both closed by officers.

Traffic had been diverted onto Upperton Road with Arriva bus services impacted while police investigations took place.

Narborough Road has since reopened, while Cambridge Street remains under a police cordon.

A police spokesperson has asked for anyone with information to come forward while inquiries remain ongoing.
