A man has died after the mobility scooter he was riding was involved in a collision with another vehicle in Rotherham.

Police were called to Magna Lane in Dalton, between the junctions at Foljambe Drive and the A630, at about 09:15 BST on Saturday.

The collision involved a blue mobility scooter and a red Mercedes C220 car, officers said.

The 70-year-old man riding the mobility scooter was taken to hospital with serious injuries, but died later.

A woman who was driving the Mercedes stayed at the scene to help officers with their inquiries, a South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said.

Anyone with any information about what happened, or who had dash cam footage from the scene, was asked to get in touch with the force.
