A yellow weather warning for rain has been issued for the East of England by the Met Office.

Thunderstorms are expected across parts of Essex, south Suffolk, Buckinghamshire, and Hertfordshire on Wednesday.

Flooding is possible, with the chance of lightning and strong winds.

There is a "slight chance" of power cuts as a result of the weather conditions.

The Met office, external said the yellow weather warning would remain in place from noon on Wednesday until the end of the day.

Members of the public have been asked to check for weather updates ahead of any travel as there is a small chance some communities could "become cut off by flooded roads".
