People across Tyne and Wear have gathered to remember members of the armed forces who died while serving their country.

Remembrance Sunday parades were held across the region, including in Sunderland and Westoe in South Tyneside.

Veterans and loved ones remembered the fallen as well as honouring those currently serving in the armed forces.

Sunderland Mayor Ehthesham Haque said he was "immensely proud" to see so many people from the city take to the streets to attend the service.
