Two men believed to have fled the scene of a crash were found hiding in water after a police dog tracked them down.

Bedfordshire Police praised good boy Hector for finding the men after the incident at about 03:00 BST on Sunday near Wootton, close to Bedford.

The force said: "Hector was able to get a scent from the car and led our officers to a swamp of knee-high water, where the two men were hiding out."

The men were detained, the force added, and officers praised the dog's action on social media, external.
