A man has died following a house fire in Lincoln.

Lincolnshire Police received reports of a fire at a property on Addison Drive just before 13:50 BST on Wednesday.

A man in his 50s was rescued from the house but died later while in hospital, the force said.

An investigation is ongoing into the cause of the fire.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Our thoughts are with his friends and family at this difficult time."

They added: "Thank you for everyone's patience while emergency services worked to contain the fire and carry out inquiries."
