A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after another man was found with stab wounds in a village.

Hertfordshire Police said it was called by paramedics to Cattlegate Road in Northaw, between Potters Bar and Cuffley, at 10:46 BST on Wednesday.

The man, aged in his 20s, died at the scene but the force said it did not know where the stabbing took place.

The suspect, 30, from Cuffley, remained in custody.

Ch Insp Pete Frost said: "Our colleagues in the major crime unit are making great progress with the investigation and we will continue to have a heightened police presence in the local area."

Anyone with information was urged to contact the force.
