Reservoir road reopens week after rockfall
- Published
A reservoir road has reopened after being shut because of rockfall during a storm.
Cumberland Council closed the West Road in Thirlmere, Cumbria, between Launchy Gill and Rough Crag on Monday after debris from Storm Ashley made it impassable.
After an inspection, the authority said the route was now deemed "safe" for motorists.
The road only reopened in May after being shut for two and a half years due to "unacceptably high risk" of rock and tree falls following Storm Arwen in 2021.
