Six people arrested after pedestrian dies on road

Six people have been arrested after a man in his 80s was hit by a driver who allegedly failed to stop.

Police said a white Audi was involved in a collision with the pedestrian on the V5 Great Monks Street in Milton Keynes at about 19:50 BST on Wednesday.

He died at the scene.

Det Sgt Robert Chevalier said Thames Valley Police was appealing for witnesses who may have seen the white Audi and its occupants either "at the time of the collision or immediately after".

He appealed for anyone with dashcam footage that could be relevant, or other footage of the area, to come forward.

A 22-year-old woman and 25-year-old man, both from Milton Keynes, were arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, causing death by dangerous driving and perverting the course of justice.

Two men aged 52 and 48, also from Milton Keynes, have been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and causing death by dangerous driving.

Two further men, aged 18 and 27, from Milton Keynes, have been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

All have been released on police bail.
