Two former Wolves players swapped boots for bats as they praised the work of a walking cricket club run by the club's foundation.

John Richards and Steve Daley joined regulars at the weekly fixture, which is focused on improving fitness and offering a social link for those aged 50+.

The sessions are funded by the City of Wolverhampton Council and Premier League Charitable Fund.

Daley, 72, described the sport as a "fantastic way of looking after yourself".

Richards praised the "camaraderie" among the "competitive" group, adding that he had "got a bit of a sweat on" despite only batting four overs.

"I am in my 70s now, and know how important it is to keep active both mentally and physically, and something like this is ideal.

"They all come along and play in different teams each week but there's a really good atmosphere and a very good social aspect as well."

The Wolves Foundation has been encouraging people to get Active in April and enjoy exercise to help keep fit and lead a healthy lifestyle.
