A 32-year-old man has been charged in connection with causing death by dangerous driving after three bikers died in a crash in the Scottish Borders last summer.

Police were called to the scene on the A6088, between Bonchester Bridge and Carter Bar, at about 14:30 on 28 July.

Andrew Lartey, 30, and his pillion passenger Georgia Tate, 23, both from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, died in the incident. The rider of a second motorbike, Jason Gibbon, 37, from Northumberland, also died.

Nathon Gibbon appeared before Jedburgh Sheriff Court on Monday, more than seven months after the fatal collision.

Gibbon, of Northumberland, made no plea and was granted bail.
