A barn fire near a motorway has prompted warnings to drivers and local residents.

Hampshire fire crews were called at about 16:00 GMT to the blaze at Ower, near junction 2 of the M27.

A camper van fire spread to an adjacent barn containing about 500 bales of hay, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service said.

It advised people in the surrounding area to close their doors and windows due to smoke, and said drivers should beware of any poor visibility on the motorway.
