A man has been arrested following a fire at a suspected cannabis farm inside an industrial unit in Gloucestershire.

The fire broke out at the unit at Tetbury Industrial Estate, Cirencester Road, at about 12:45 GMT.

It had been reported that three men were seen running away from the scene, and one of them was detained nearby.

Gloucestershire police officers arrested a 26-year-old man on suspicion of drugs manufacture and the production of a class B drug, namely cannabis.

Gloucestershire police have said the fire has since been extinguished.

However, officers will remain at the scene overnight after "extensive damage" was caused to the building, making it unsafe.

Police have been trying to locate the two other men who were seen running away from the fire across farmland, with support from the dog unit and the National Police Air Service.

However, no one else has yet been located.

The force said one of the men was wearing a black hooded top and grey jogging bottoms and the other man was wearing black shorts and a red hooded top.

They were said to be aged in their 20s or 30s.

Road closures that were in place earlier have since been lifted.

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call police.
