Four men have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man died following an assault at his home, police said.
Lancashire Police were called to Blackpool Victoria Hospital on Saturday after a man arrived at the hospital on 7 September with serious injuries.
Officers believe the victim, named by police as Rob Kerr, was assaulted at his home on Coronation Street, in Blackpool.
Mr Kerr, 42, was in a critical condition but died from his injuries on Tuesday.
Officers said they believed the assault took place on 1 September or in the early hours of 2 September.
Four men aged 21, 27, 29 and 40 from Blackpool, who were originally arrested on suspicion of assault have now been arrested on suspicion of murder, and were in custody.
Det Ch Insp Lee Wilson said: "A man has very sadly died, and my thoughts are with his loved ones at this time."
A post-mortem examination would be carried out to establish the cause of death.
The force urged anyone with any information, in particular those who live in the area and use the services of the Salvation Army, to get in touch.
