Police are searching for a man dressed as a delivery driver following a robbery at a Plymouth Co-op store.

Devon and Cornwall Police said it was called to Peverell Park Road at 12:55 BST on Tuesday after a man, dressed as a food delivery driver, entered the shop.

He filled a bag with items from the tobacco and cigarette counter and pushed past staff who challenged him, police said.

"The suspect escaped on an electric-style scrambler bike. No-one was threatened or injured during the incident," the force added.

A scene guard has been put in place and police said they were searching for the suspect, including house-to-house inquiries.

The force has asked anybody with information to get in touch.
