Family thanks town for raising £2k for funeral

A Crewe family have thanked the people of the town for donating thousands of pounds towards funeral costs.
Sharon Bennett died last week after being diagnosed with breast cancer, leaving behind three daughters.
Her cousin, Shauna O'Neill, said £2,000 had been raised to help pay for her funeral and to set up a trust fund for her youngest daughter, who is seven years old.
Ms O'Neill said: "Once again Crewe have come together and proved what an amazing town it is."
Ms Bennett was first diagnosed last October and had been supported in her final days at St Luke's Hospice.
Ms O'Neill said they were "all quite a close family, especially when something happens" and she set up an online fundraising page to support them.
She also arranged raffles and said there had been many generous donations, including some from businesses.
"Every single penny means the world to us," she said.
Speaking aboud Ms Bennett's youngest daughter, she said: "No child should have to deal with that" and that she "just wanted to show her that we care".
