Two people have been charged with murder following an investigation into the death of a man in Sittingbourne town centre, police have confirmed.

Kent Police said officers were called at approximately 21:30 BST on 2 August following a crash involving a man and a car on St Michael's Road.

The force said a pedestrian fell from a wall after being chased, before colliding with the vehicle near the junction with Dover Street. Officers attended with paramedics but a man in his 30s was pronounced dead at the scene.

Jack Hunt, of Platinum Way, Borden and Chris McClean, of Pembury Court, Sittingbourne, have both been charged with murder.

The two men were arrested on Monday and Wednesday and both were remanded in custody and due to appear before magistrates on Thursday.

Mr Hunt, 33, was due at Medway Magistrates' Court while Mr McClean was due to appear before magistrates in Sevenoaks.

Kent Police added the investigation remains ongoing and anyone with relevant information should contact them.
