Lane closures after vehicle strikes bridge

Motorists faced two miles of congestion on the M1 after a vehicle struck a bridge in Bedfordshire.
Transport analytics company Inrix reported that three lanes were closed northbound between junction 11A at the Dunstable Northern Bypass and junction 12 at Flitwick.
Bedfordshire Police confirmed emergency services, external were sent to a collision and urged motorists to avoid the area and seek alternative routes to ease congestion.
At about 08:26 GMT, National Highways said collision clear-up work was complete , externaland all lanes had reopened.
