Police want to speak to this man in connection with a murder investigation

Detectives have released images of a man they would like to talk to after a 46-year-old woman died and another in her 20s was injured following "an altercation" in a house.

Bedfordshire Police said it was called to a property on Turners Road North, Luton, at 11:45 GMT on Monday, to a "horrendous incident" which it believed was targeted.

Emergency services attended the scene and the woman was later pronounced dead at Luton and Dunstable University Hospital, the force added.

Officers said they were searching for Jacob Clark, 25, from Luton, in connection with their ongoing murder investigation.

Police asked anyone with information about the missing man to get in touch

Det Insp Adam Bridges, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit, said: "We are currently carrying out numerous lines of inquiry in relation to this murder - in particular, we are actively seeking Jacob Clark.

"We understand Jacob to have close cropped hair, which may mean he looks different from the image provided. We have also issued a CCTV still from near the scene of the incident.

"This is a murder investigation, and as such I would urge anyone who knows where Jacob is to contact police immediately. If you believe you have seen him, please do not approach him and dial 999 straight away."

The force previously said it was "searching for a man who was seen leaving the scene at the time".

Officers described him as white, in his 20s and wearing all-black clothing with a hood. He had a shaved head, was between 5ft 9in to 5ft 10in (1.75m to 1.78m) tall and was of very slim build.

The man left the scene on a black and red electric scooter, which has since been recovered.

Det Insp Bridges added: "This horrendous incident, which is believed to be targeted, has sadly resulted in one woman losing her life and another sustaining serious injuries, which are not thought to be life-threatening.

"It is absolutely imperative that we locate the person responsible as soon as possible, and as such we have specialist teams and resources dedicated to this search."

He said there was an increased police presence in the area as part of the investigation and to reassure the public.

He appealed to anyone with information to come forward.

Paramedics arrived at the scene on Monday

The East of England Ambulance Service said an ambulance, a rapid response vehicle, two paramedic cars and an air ambulance were sent to reports of a "violent incident" on Monday.

It said a "critically ill woman" was taken to the Luton and Dunstable University Hospital by ambulance, where she later died.
