A new market hall in Glossop has opened following a multi-million-pound restoration.
The £7.3m Glossop Market Hall project, external has been funded by High Peak Borough Council and includes a grant funding contribution of £2m from the D2N2 Get Building Fund.
The new facility includes a food hall, retail arcade, and a mezzanine level which is due to open in early 2026.
Damien Greenhalgh, deputy leader of the council and cabinet member for regeneration, tourism and leisure, said: "From the outset, our vision has been to give local businesses and independent makers the platform they deserve, while building a vibrant hub that showcases the very best in food, drink and retail."

Some members of the public were allowed into the market hall during a local open day on Friday
High Peak Borough Council started the rejuvenation of Glossop's Town Hall, Market Hall, and Municipal Buildings in October 2022, aiming to restore them to "full public use".
The market hall operator, The Hospitality Collective, said the facility has created 60 new jobs and will also include space for events, weddings, and community activities.
They added the market hall has a "full roster" of independent traders signed up.
The grand opening on Saturday coincides with the Christmas light switch-on in Glossop town centre.

New shops will be opening at the Market Hall
Greenhalgh added: "This is the biggest regeneration project in decades, a true passion project that breathes new life into the very heart of our town.
"What's most exciting is that we can now share it with the community - a space that celebrates our heritage, supports local entrepreneurs and creates a destination Glossop can be proud of for generations to come."
Richard Walker, managing director of The Hospitality Collective, said: "We know the local community has been patiently waiting for this moment and we have been truly overwhelmed by the incredible engagement from such exciting local brands who wanted to be involved in the hall.
"It is a moment of immense pride for us to be able to finally launch the market hall, and we are so excited for the future of this venue as a destination the whole town can be proud of."
