A man has suffered life-threatening injuries in a shooting at a park in Coventry.

West Midlands Police said shots were fired in Caludon Castle Park in Farren Road at about 22:20 BST on Monday.

A 24-year-old man was found at the park with serious injuries and was taken to hospital.

The force have launched an attempted murder investigation and said extra patrols were in place on Tuesday to reassure residents.

"We understand the alarm incidents like this cause and our officers will be providing reassurance to the community, so please talk to them if you have any concerns," a spokesperson said.
