A drug dealer caught selling crack cocaine to an undercover police officer six times in six weeks has been jailed.

Mohammed Sardar, 27, was arrested in April as part of an operation targeting drugs gangs across Yorkshire.

Passing sentence at Bradford Crown Court Judge Colin Burn said the father-of-two, who had been jailed for similar charges in 2016, "caused misery" in the Keighley area.

Sardar, of Bradford Street, Keighley, was jailed for three years and nine months after pleading guilty to six counts of supplying class A drugs.

The judge said Sardar had made "a significant contribution to the drug dealing problem" in the area.

"You caused so much damage and misery to to the overwhelming majority of the residents in Keighley who are law abiding," he said.

Prosecutor Jessica Lister told the court that between 14 September and 26 October 2023, Sardar sold cocaine to the undercover officer six times.

The investigation was part of West Yorkshire Police's Operation Saintpond, which targets drug gangs across Yorkshire.

Following his arrest Sardar made no comment responses to all questions asked of him, Ms Lister said.

In mitigation, defence barrister Richard Holland said: "He had fallen on hard times and was running his part of the operation to pay for his own drug addiction and look after the debts he had accumulated."
