A man has been arrested after three people were injured in a shooting.
Police said a 20-year-old man received hospital treatment for non-life-threatening injuries following the incident on Ferham Road in Rotherham at about 21:25 BST on Wednesday.
Another man and a woman also suffered minor injuries in the incident and were treated at the scene by emergency services.
A 28-year-old man arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and assault has been bailed pending further enquiries, a South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said.
The man who required hospital treatment has since been discharged, they added.
Det Insp Claire Moss from South Yorkshire Police's armed crime team said the shooting was being treated as a targeted attack.
“We do not tolerate gun crime in South Yorkshire and will relentlessly pursue those who choose to use firearms to harm others and bring them to justice," she added.
She asked anyone with any information about the incident to contact them.
