A two-year-old boy has been taken to hospital after falling from the first floor of a building, according to West Yorkshire Police.

The child suffered a head injury after the fall from a house on Trilby Street in Wakefield at about 16:39 GMT on Friday, police said.

The child's injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Wakefield District Safeguarding Unit said officers were investigating the incident.
