Arrest after pedestrian dies in crash
The woman was hit by the car on Oldbury Road, Smethwick, on Tuesday, police said

A pedestrian died when she was hit by a car in the West Midlands.
The woman suffered several, serious injuries in the crash on Oldbury Road, Smethwick, at about 21:15 BST on Tuesday, the ambulance service said.
They added they sent a number of staff but despite their efforts she died at the scene.
A 20-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and remained in custody for questioning, police added.
