On Wednesday, Mr Gascoine's mother issued a statement on behalf of the family, saying the pain they felt was "indescribable" and adding: "There will forever be a piece of my heart missing."
Det Ch Insp Ruby Burrow said: "Marley's family are going through every parent's worst nightmare, and our thoughts continue to be with them as we work to ensure those responsible face justice.
"I would like to take this opportunity to thank members of the public who have come forward and provided us with vital information to support our investigation."
