A 16-year-old boy and girl have been charged with murder after a man died in following a stabbing.

Police were called to Humberstone Road, Luton, following reports of a violent altercation between three people shortly after 18:00 BST on Sunday.

Adam Khan, 26, from Luton, was found in a life-threatening condition and was taken to hospital, where he died.

Bedfordshire Police said the pair who have been charged, who cannot be named because of their age, had been remanded in custody before a court appearance.

Det Insp Adam Bridges, who is leading the investigation, said: "Our thoughts are with Mr Khan's family and friends at this exceptionally difficult time.

"We recognise the impact this incident has had not only on Mr Khan's loved ones, but also on the wider community, and we thank them for their support with our investigation."

The force has urged anyone with further information to get in touch.
